Application for Nursery Place - NA1 Form
Reception
In the September prior to your child starting school you need to obtain a copy of the County Primary Education brochure explaining the admission process. Enclosed will be a copy of an AF1 form to express your preferences for your child's school. This form must be sent to County Hall. An application can also be made online. The Local Authority will inform you of the school in which your child has been offered a place. Parents have the right to appeal against the decision. Appeals are heard by an independent panel and parents are given the opportunity to state their case in writing and to attend the hearing in person.
Any parent/carer who is considering Pittington Primary School as a possible place for their child is warmly invited to visit school. Contact should be made with the Headteacher so that a mutually convenient appointment can be made for a visit.
As from September 2023 we can admit 30 into Reception.
Other Admissions
All other admissions are arranged by the Local Authority. You are welcome to visit the school but you will need to apply through The Admissions Team at County Hall on 0191 383 3000.
Visit the Durham County Council website for information regarding the school admission process and primary school admissions. To appeal against an admission decision visit: School admissions-appeals.
